Galatasaray are still trying to convince Leon Goretzka to leave the bench at Bayern Munich before the Turkish transfer window closes this summer.
Turkish journalist Haluk Yurekli reported on Friday that Galatasaray are looking to sign 29-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka before the transfer window closes on September 13.
Galatasaray previously stunned the club by bringing in Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen on loan from Napoli, but the Turkish giants are not done yet, with reports suggesting they are also looking to sign Goretzka from Bayern Munich.
Goretzka has reportedly rejected a move to Galatasaray in the past. But the Turkish giants are yet to give up and are still trying to convince the 29-year-old midfielder to join them as he is unlikely to get many playing opportunities at the Bavarians under Vincent Kompany.
Although Goretzka has a high salary of 16-18 million euros per year. It will not be a problem for Galatasaray as Bayern Munich are willing to pay around 50 percent. UFABET with the Turkish club only waiting for the player’s decision.
From a neutral perspective, such a transfer would undoubtedly raise further questions about how fair it is for the Turkish football transfer window to stay open so much longer than so many other European countries. Galatasaray’s current transfer dealings are a perfect demonstration of how much of an advantage an extra couple of weeks of the transfer window provide.
